End User

about

‘End User’ is the third new single from Australian rock trio Antiskeptic to be released this year. It follows the songs ‘Young Hearts’ and ‘Head Afire’ which were released to fans online and applauded for their catchy hooks and anthemic singalong melodies.

With End User, the band bares their teeth and shows a more aggressive side, drawing on harder and heavier elements for impact.

Speaking about the track Andrew Kitchen (vox/guitars) says, “This was the first song written for the album. I’ve always loved ‘Evie’ by Stevie Wright of The Easybeats and wanted to write a riff like that which goes throughout the verses. The song itself is about big companies making addictive games who don’t care about the users or the sacrifices they make to play them.”

‘End User’ is taken from the bands highly anticipated 4th full length studio album ‘Instincts’. The bands first new album in 10 years. Due for release 16th Feb 2024. Pre-orders for a Premium Gatefold Vinyl edition with full colour 12 page art booklet and limited colour variants will be live exclusively through the Anti Vinyl Vinyl Club webstore from December 8th.

lyrics

Bullets fly wherever
With the press and hold
Captive mind forsaken
The claws come out and tighten their hold

When you see the wave consuming
Imagination sold
Young dreams laid out for profit
In virtual control
The horror as their stories
Are turned to ash and stone
You know you’ve got just the one life
You know you’ve got just the one life, you know

Respawn and tether
Identity in code
Achievement unlocked and failed
360 no scope limbo

You’re logging in again
But the days tick by
And you’ve lost your fire
And you justify
The day turns to night
Your youth rolls by
Who’s to blame
You bought the lie
Plug in and play
We’ll take over
Don’t let go of the controller
Or is the controller holding you
